First Function: Decompression and the “Suction Effect”

The primary function of OSSO 3D Spinal Decompression Therapy®️ is to increase the space between the vertebrae in the spine. As the decompression table pulls, the space between the vertebrae expands. This space is occupied by a spongy, gelatinous disc, and as the space increases, a negative pressure is formed in the center of the disc. This negative pressure creates a “suction effect” that draws in disc herniations or disc bulges, effectively taking pressure off the “pinched” nerve. By relieving the pressure on the nerve, patients often experience a significant reduction in pain and discomfort.

Second Function: Disc Thickening and Healing

Traction stretches your spine and muscles simultaneously. If you only stretch the spine, your body naturally “braces” for the next stretch reducing the ability for the treatment to be effective. This “overall stretching” commonly used in traction can trigger painful muscle spasms.
